1. What is Accreditation / Approval?

Ans: Accreditation is an act of certifying that an educational institution/ course maintain suitable standards. With regard to DOEACC Accreditation Scheme, Accreditation is approval for conducting a course under DOEACC scheme by institutions in Non- Formal sector. The DOEACC Society accords approval only after ensuring that the applicant institution has sufficient infrastructure, faculty, facilities etc. to conduct the course and the said course meets the norms and standards prescribed by the DOEACC Society under its Accreditation Scheme.

2. Why Accreditation/ Approval?

Ans: The accreditation is required to ensure the quality by:

  1. Identifying the programme with excellence in technical education.
  2. Conformity to good practices and bench marks of global requirements.
  3. Being a satisfied vendor of human capital to world-class employer and other stakeholders. Literally it means “Recognition and Guarantee of Minimum Quality”.
  4. Best rating of the programme at National level.
For the DOEACC, it means the need and demand for Accreditation of a course is to meet the burgeoning demand for quality IT (Software & Hardware both) and electronics professionals of the industry due to the developments in the area of IT in last about 15 years, by bringing standardization in the course curricula and examination pattern.

3. Who can apply?

Ans: Organizations and institutes in the non formal/ formal sectors, who are maintaining or desires to maintain the quality in conducting the courses by meeting well desired/ prescribed norms and criteria of DOEACC Society, are eligible to apply for seeking the approval of the Hardware courses.

4. How to apply?

Ans: The institutions / organizations seeking the approval of course(s) may request for “Approval Guidelines” and Application form for DOEACC Hardware Scheme along with a crossed demand draft of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) in favour of Director, DOEACC Centre of respective region and payable at the respective city.

5. Validity Period of Accreditation/ Approval?

Ans: The approval of the Hardware course(s) shall be accorded provisionally for a period of three years initially. The continuation of approval of the course(s) beyond three years shall be granted based on the performance of the institute.

6. Processing time for granting the Approval of Course(s)?

Ans: Provisional Accreditation of a course is granted at the first instance. The processing time for granting the provisional accreditation is normally about two (2) months.

7. Difference between Recognition and Accreditation?

Ans: The Recognition is an act of acknowledging the character of an organization/ institution. The DOEACC accreditation is acknowledging the character of the course, where as Recognition is for an Institute/ organization to conduct DOEACC course(s).

8. I am a new entrepreneur. Once I make the investment, what is the guarantee that I will be accorded the accreditation?

Ans: No guarantee can be given. However, there is no reason why the accreditation/ approval of a course will not be given, once the applicant fulfils the laid down norms.

9. I am already running course for IGNOU or I am the franchisee of NIIT. Can I continue to conduct these courses with DOEACC course(s)?

Ans: Yes.

10. Are DOEACC Certificate/ Diploma Govt. Recognized? What advantages do they have over the certificates granted by other franchisers?

Ans: Not all. Some of the certificates granted by DOEACC are recognized by the Govt. of India for the purpose of employment to posts and services under Central Government. Further the DOEACC, itself, has developed its Goodwill, Image and Brand Equity; therefore the certificates granted by DOEACC have the value to that extent.

The certificate awarded by DOEACC has an advantage of being indicative of the proficiency achieved in high quality electronics and IT hardware education, because these certificates will be awarded after qualifying national level examinations conducted by DOEACC - An autonomous body of Department of Information Technology (DIT), Ministry of Communication and Information Technology Govt. of India.

11. Since we have accreditation for DOEACC Software course(s), shall we be automatically approved to DOEACC Hardware Scheme to conduct O and A level courses?

Ans: No. You need to apply separately to DOEACC for approval of Hardware Course(s).

12. Can we run additional course(s), i.e. the courses other than the prescribed by DOEACC?

Ans: Yes. But the use of the Brand Equity Goodwill, Image etc, of DOEACC, in any manner shall not be permitted.

13. Can you arrange to provide us?
- Licensed Software, Hardware - Trained Faculty, Library Books?

Ans: No. However you may like to contact our Centre(s) near-by you for guidance/ suggestion/ support in these matters. Trainers Training Programs (TTP) shall be organized for training faculties by the DOEACC Centre(s).

14. We are a public sector organization. Can we negotiate payment of lesser amount of approval fee?

Ans: No.

15. We are a public sector organization. Can we negotiate payment of lesser amount of approval fee?

Ans: No, the approval fee structure for DOEACC Hardware Courses are based on the no. of students. Therefore, it has been already considered.

16. We are a Govt. Organisation, we can not employ permanent faculty, will part time faculty be OK?

Ans: Required permanent faculty out of the available permanent staff may be assigned the work. In addition to this, some faculty on part time is permitted. However ratio be maintained as per the norms.

17. Can we open our extension counter in the interior or at any other location?

Ans: No.

18. How will you be promoting the Scheme?

Ans: Through joint advertisements, workshop, publicity material etc.

19. Will you provide experts for lectures at Registered location of the Institute?

Ans: Yes, on request and payment basis.
