Brief History
Library was
established in 1987 in one room at Department of Mathematics,
then Marathwada University (Now Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada
University), Aurangabad. In the beginning the collection was
catering to the needs of Diploma students.
It occupied present premises in 1992. The collection grew
when post graduate degree course in Electronic Design and
Technology was started in 1991.
The total area of library is 350 square meter. Library
has two floors. On the ground floor books of daily use are
kept on the open book shelves. Current Periodicals are displayed
on the sloping periodical display racks. Reference books
are kept on the first floor with reading tables for students
and staff.
Library is kept open on week days
(all seven days) from 9:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M.
Budget
Library spends Rs. 6.0 Lakhs on books and periodicals every
year. Besides this budget, AICTE allocates Rs.0.10 Lakhs
as grant for purchase of books for post graduate courses
every year. Library also gets grant from different projects
of DOEACC Society. Rs.0.9 Lakhs have been recently allocated
from E- Learning project by DOEACC Society
Books
At present total collection of books is 6020. The subjects
of books are Agriculture, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics,
Computer Hardware, Computer Networking, Control Engineering,
E- Commerce, E-Learning, Electronics, Electronics Devices
and Circuits, Embedded Systems, Information Technology,
Information Security, Mechatronics, Microprocessors, Mobile
Communication, Optical Fibres and Communication, Product
Design, Power Electronics, Printed Circuits Boards, Real
Time Operating Systems, Software Engineering, VLSI Design,
VHDL, etc.
Journals and Periodicals
Periodicals contain latest and state of the art information
about a particular subject. Library subscribes to National
and International periodicals. Following are periodicals
subscribed by the library.
