Practical Examination Scheme
No. of Practical Examination
: Two for 'O' level & Four (4) (Total Six)
for 'A' Level
Duration of Each Examination
: Three hour duration including viva voice
Max. marks in each Examination : 100 (80 (Practical)
+ 20 (Viva))
- Grading : Students
are awarded grades in practical examinations based
on the marks scored by them in the practical and
viva voice. Every candidate has to pass in both
Theory and Practical Examinations separately.

will be announced in the leading News Paper and
on DOEACC Website.
The practical examinations are held in the Approved
Institutions conducting Hardware Courses.
The institute is obliged to conduct practical examinations
and arrange infrastructure, faculty for the conduct
of practical examination. The institute is not allowed
to charge any fee from the candidates, for practical
examinations.
Project
- DOEACC Hardware curriculum has a project
as an important component of 'A' level and higher
level courses. The project is identified and carried
out by the student under the guidance and support
of Faculty/Guide and management of the respective
institute. It is felt that such a project provides
an opportunity to the student to apply his / her knowledge
and skills to real life problems (including oral and
written communication skills), and as such the project
is given utmost importance and priority both by the
students as well as by the institute faculty / management
in respect of its identification, planning and implementation.
Objective of the project
- The aim of the project is to provide the students
an integrated experience in solving a real life problem
by applying knowledge and skills gained on completion
of theory papers in a course at a given level. It
provides an opportunity for the students to develop
written and communication skills. Project also helps
the students to realize the importance of resource
and time management, ownership of task towards deliverables,
innovation and efficiency in task management apart
from presentation skills. It also provides a good
opportunity for students to build, enhance and sustain
high level of professional conduct and performance
and evolves a problem solver frame of mind. It is
also felt that undertaking the project by a student
prepares him for a job in industry and elsewhere.
The project should be original, of real life value,
and not copied from existing material from any source
and a certificate to this effect shall be provided
with the project, duly countersigned by the supervisor.
The student is allowed to undertake the project work
at his / her Approved Institute or in Industry / other
organization(s). If the organization, where the student
is working, is not DOEACC Approved institute, then
the student is required to submit an undertaking /
certificate from the said organization for extending
the facility to the student for the project work.
Eligibility for Supervisor
/ Guide for 'A' Level - A guide for 'A' level
shall be a person with DOEACC Hardware 'B' level or
BE or M.Sc (Electronics/ Computer Science) or equivalent
qualification and adequate experience in the area
in which the student has chosen the project. In case
of a candidate from an Approved institute, the institute
concerned shall render all help including the nomination
of the supervisor. The students are required to submit
the acceptance of the identified resource person to
act as guide/supervisor for the proposed project work.
Submission of Hardware 'O'
Level Project Report - At O level, a candidate
is required to complete one project. No marks/credits
are assigned. Candidates are expected to carry out
a project successfully and submit the certificate
in the prescribed proforma from the head of the institute
/ centre running the approved course or the organization,
where the candidate has undergone project work.
Submission of Hardware 'A'
Level Project Report -
'A' Level candidates are expected to carry out a project
successfully and submit the certificate in the prescribed
proforma from the Project Guide or Head of the Approved
Institute.
Time of Submission of Hardware
'A' Level Project Report and Evaluation
- 'A' level student can submit the project
only after passing 5 papers and appearing in remaining
papers in the next examinations. 'A' level project
shall be approximately 240 man-hours and carries a
total of 100 marks (80% for the project evaluation
and 20% for the viva-voce). A student must secure
at least 50% marks in project evaluation and viva-voce
separately to qualify for 'A' level. The examiner
designated by DOEACC Society shall intimate the exact
location for the conduct of both project evaluation
and viva-voce.
Project Evaluation fee for 'A'
Level and above - A fee of Rs.1000/- (Rupees
One Thousand Only) shall be remitted to DOEACC Society
by a demand draft in favour of respective DOEACC Centre,
drawn on any nationalized bank, payable at location
of respective centre for project evaluation.
Exemptions : Students, who have qualified 'O' level
of a field shall get exemption in the same subjects
of 'A' level of the same field. e.g. A student, who
has qualified CHM-O1-R0, CHM-O2-R0, CHM-O3-R0, CHM-O4-R0
shall get exemption in CHM-A1-R0, CHM-A2-R0, CHM-A3-R0,
CHM-A4-R0.
Award of Certificate / Diploma
- On passing the examination including the project,
certificate / diploma is awarded by the DOEACC Society,
New Delhi to the Candidates.
